Extra baggage

You can upgrade your baggage allowance either :

• when you book your flight on our website;
• at any time after booking your flight and up to 30 hours before your departure, in "My booking" section.

By upgrading your baggage allowance online rather than at the airport, you benefit from a 25% discount.

This service does not include oversized baggage. It is available only on flights operated by Aircalin. For itineraries beyond the Aircalin network, payment can be made exclusively at the airport.
It is not available on Wallis and Vanuatu routes, which are subject to a per-kilogram allowance: any excess must be paid at the airport at a rate of XPF 1,000/kg for Wallis and XPF 700/kg for Vanuatu.

For the baggages over 32 kg and/or the maximum dimensions (height + width + depth) over 300 cm, you need to contact a freight forwarder prior to your departure to organize the transport of your baggages by airfreight.

Upgrade your baggage, for onward travel beyond the Aircalin network, by contacting Aircalin's agency or your travel agency in New Caledonia.

The conditions

• Prices shown are valid for flights to and from Noumea on 02/02/2026 and are subject to future modification.
• Pre-paid excess luggage is available, until 30 hours before departure, for Aircalin passengers travelling on direct (without stop over) flights operated by Aircalin only and with and Aircalin flight number (tickets including Aircalin plus partner airlines flights excluded).
• Transfer of the service to another date and on the same route is allowed free of charge (if the flight is eligible). If the service cannot be transferred to the new flight (ineligible flight), it is non-refundable.
• Pre-paid additional baggage allowance is personal and cannot be transferred to another passenger.
• Pre-paid additional baggage allowance are not refundable, unless:
  • Aircalin modify your flight and book you on a flight not operated by Aircalin
  • Following operational irregularities, your baggage haven’t been flown on the scheduled flight
• Reimbursement conditions for extra baggage are different from the flight ticket.
• The purchase of additional baggage is limited to 3 per passenger.

Airport baggage fare (flights operated by Aircalin)

Rates apply for one-way travel only.

*If your baggage exceeds your allowed allowance of 23 kg, you can purchase an excess baggage weight package. Your baggage may then weigh between 24 and 32 kg. Rates apply to all baggage exceeding the allowance included in your fare, as well as to additional or oversized baggage. This does not apply to flights between Nouméa and Wallis, Nandi, and Port-Vila.

Examples:

• On a flight from Nouméa to Auckland, your checked baggage allowance is one piece of 23 kg. If your baggage weighs 28 kg, you can purchase an excess baggage weight package for 4,000 XPF or reduce the weight of your baggage.
• On a flight from Nouméa to Wallis, your checked baggage allowance is 23 kg in total. If your baggage weighs 28 kg, you can purchase additional baggage at 1,000 XPF per kg for 5 kg, or reduce the weight of your baggage.

Excess baggage fees for flights departing from a stopover not operated by Aircalin are subject to operating airline conditions. We recommend you to consult the terms and conditions applied by each airline.
